RE-GREEN
Regional policies towards GREEN buildings (Interreg IVC – 2012-2014).
The purpose of the RE-GREEN project is to support regions in the renovation of public buildings and private buildings such as apartment blocks and individual residential houses (including through the inclusion of green public procurement) by promoting innovative energy renovation solutions and achieving the so-called green building standard. In this regard, the involvement of public administration as a key actor in the process of transition to a green economy is important, as the public sector must be an example in introducing energy efficiency measures and renewable energy sources in publicly owned buildings.
In addition to management, coordination and communication activities between partners themselves and between partners and local communities, the RE-GREEN initiative also carried out activities such as the exchange of experiences and examples of good practices and the development of new and appropriate local policy tools in the field of sustainable construction and energy reconstruction, which also included study visits to good practices in the countries of the project partners. The visits were complemented by inter-regional workshops at which participants discussed the experiences gained and improved understanding of sustainable construction and energy reconstruction methods. As part of the project, we developed a regional implementation plan for sustainable construction and reconstruction, instructions for the transfer of good practices, and also organized workshops with interested target groups. The project partners collaborated in the development of a substantive and methodological framework and in the formulation of proposals that must be included in regional or local policy. RE-GREEN's conceptual model includes the areas of green buildings, green urban systems, and energy and environmental management, which we will also transfer to the renewal of municipal local energy concepts as one of the fundamental conditions on the path to a sustainable society.
As part of the project, LEA Spodnje Podravje prepared a local implementation plan for energy reconstruction of public buildings and the transition to a green economy in the public sector for the Spodnje Podravje area, which includes:
- The dynamics of local energy development.
- Local strategy towards green municipal governance.
- Presentation of financing methods including sources of co-financing.
- Tools for monitoring the effects of the transition to a green economy in the public sector.
