The mission of the Local Energy Agency Spodnje Podravje is to promote sustainable energy development in this area by spreading knowledge and experience through demonstration projects, education and promotion, with the aim of encouraging investments in renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.

The website of LEA Spodnje Podravje agency is intended for members, citizens, municipal administrations, directors and principals and politicians of Eastern Styria and for all those who have the will for innovative and modern approaches to energy consumption, whether as citizens at home in private buildings, in transport, in municipal services, municipalities, or in public and industrial buildings.

LEA Spodnje Podravje agency places special emphasis on the introduction of renewable energy sources at the local level, including solar, geothermal and wind energy as well as biomass and biogas. Its ultimate goal is for Spodnje Podravje or Eastern Styria to become a sustainably energy-developed region that optimally utilizes its own natural and renewable energy sources, promotes sustainable construction (low-energy and passive), develops sustainable transport and reduces greenhouse gas emissions to an environmentally friendly level.

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT

LEA Spodnje Podravje Agency actively promotes education and awareness-raising about sustainable energy use and renewable energy sources for all generations. We carry out educational activities such as technical days in primary schools and multi-generational education programs. In addition, we also operate a RES contact point, where we offer free advice on renewable energy, with the aim of accelerating investments in the field of renewable energy sources. Our efforts are focused on the transition to renewable energy sources and increasing energy efficiency.

A local energy concept (LEK) is a concept for the development of a local community in the field of energy supply and use, which includes measures for efficient energy use and methods of energy supply from renewable sources, cogeneration, waste heat and other sources.

LEA Spodnje Podravje regularly informs municipalities and other interested stakeholders in the region about domestic and European tenders in the field of energy. Our goal is to make Eastern Styria a sustainably energy-developed region. The activities we carry out are aimed at drawing funds from national and European financial mechanisms and are key to promoting the development and introduction of innovative solutions in the energy sector.

LEA Spodnje Podravje gains international experience through participation in European projects in the fields of energy efficiency, climate change, sustainable development and the use of renewable energy sources. We participate in various transnational programs, such as Interreg Europe, Interreg Central Europe, Interreg Danube Region, Interreg EURO-MED, Interreg SI-HR, as well as the Life, Horizon Europe and Erasmus programs. In addition to international projects, we also participate in local initiatives that promote sustainable energy development in the region by promoting advanced and innovative energy solutions.
