Energy accounting

SIMPLE ENERGY ACCOUNTING is a regular monthly monitoring of energy consumption, calculation of basic indicators (e.g. energy number, electricity consumption per employee, energy consumption per temperature deficit or average outdoor temperature, water consumption per employee) and comparison of consumption data with data from previous periods. Based on the differences, we can conclude about increased consumption and start looking for causes, and eliminating errors reduces excessive consumption. This method therefore means eliminating the errors that have occurred and thus excessive energy consumption but does not reduce the basic energy efficiency of the building.

Computer-Aided Energy Accounting includes a monitoring and control system, automatic data capture and archiving, comparison with reference values with data from previous periods, and immediate corrective measures (e.g. lowering/raising temperatures in rooms, turning off systems that are not in use, etc.). Such systems are expensive, and a cost-benefit analysis must be carried out before the project is implemented.

LEA Spodnje Podravje has developed an Energy Accounting tool, which is available at this link.
