I-PRODER

The common challenge that the project solves through cross-border cooperation is to improve the knowledge and awareness of decision-makers, and to increase cooperation between decision-makers and the "field", in the field of preventing and eliminating energy poverty of households. Estimates that link energy poverty with the level of risk of social exclusion and our own projection show that around 20 % households in the program area are experiencing energy poverty. The program area has also recently been experiencing an increase in energy and energy product prices, which further contributes to the increase in the problem of energy poverty. The situation on the ground requires action. It is necessary to set realistic starting points for the area of energy poverty; obtain data on the ground and define the level of households that are already experiencing and the level of those that will soon encounter energy poverty. Energy poverty is a multifaceted problem and challenge that requires the cooperation of key actors and decision-makers who can take concrete action. On the other hand, it is necessary to prepare starting points for action and indicate possible solutions to them.

The project will contribute to reducing energy poverty through activities aimed at improving energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources in households. The results will be reflected in lower energy consumption, energy efficiency and better use of endogenous potential of local energy sources and ultimately lower CO2 emissions. The concept with an action plan includes socially weak and socially vulnerable groups in the program area, which are most threatened by energy poverty. A bottom-up initiative will be created, different approaches will be tested and starting points and commitments for a coordinated fight against household energy poverty will be prepared.
