ZEROCO2 continues its decarbonization journey
Between 2016 and 2020, the Interreg Europe ZEROCO2 project identified buildings with nearly zero CO2 emissions in terms of energy use. The original project presented a combination of different technologies and renewable energy sources needed to achieve the climate and energy targets set at both national and EU level. The ZEROCO2 project also presented different financial methodologies for promoting such buildings.
In the added year of implementation (2021-2022), the project touched on the current crisis in the EU (both the COVID-19 pandemic and the energy crisis) and how this crisis affects decarbonization and the achievement of EU goals.
