A new generation of regional energy and climate plans

The CEESEU-DIGIT project, a continuation of the CEESEU project, focuses on the preparation of new Regional Energy and Climate Plans (ECAPs) in six target regions of Central and Eastern Europe. The key innovation of these plans is the emphasis on climate change adaptation and spatial planning in addition to emission reduction measures. The project pays special attention to vulnerable social groups and those affected by energy poverty.

Main project objectives:

• Strengthening capacities to prepare new regional energy and climate plans (ECAPs) that will include climate adaptation, social aspects and land use along with emission reduction measures.
• Preparing these plans in line with national energy and climate goals, with a particular focus on social justice and energy poverty.
• Support to municipalities in harmonizing local strategies with new regional plans and connecting municipalities into energy regions for more efficient knowledge exchange and implementation of measures.
• Promoting a just energy transition by identifying, collecting and disseminating good practices.
• Knowledge exchange and informing the public and partners to achieve climate goals.

Total project budget: €1,850,000.00, of which €1,750,000.00 is provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
